Scenes from a Dartmouth Medical School student's visit to Vietnam
In March 2008, Katherine Kosman (DMS '11) accompanied DMS plastic surgeon Dr. Joseph Rosen and his team to Vietnam. They journeyed to a rural hospital in Thai Nguyen to test a telemedicine ultrasound system. This technology helps link the radiology departments at regional Vietnam hospitals to each other as well as to experts at Dartmouth's Thayer School of Engineering. The team also worked in Hanoi, doing pediatric hand and craniofacial surgery, including fixing cleft palates, birth malformations, and poorly healed injuries. Below are scenes captured by Kosman on her trip.
