Chris Demarest talks about DHART

Since 1994, the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Advanced Response Team (DHART) has been helping to save lives by transporting patients from remote locations to DHMC and other medical centers in the region, as well as from one hospital to another, depending on a given patient's needs. In the feature article "Help from on High," writer and illustrator Chris Demarest recounts his experience riding along with DHART as the team rescued a man injured in a highway accident. In the video below, Demarest talks more about what it was like to spend time with the members of the DHART crew. The video also shows footage of DHART in action. And, in the supplementary article below, Demarest discusses the history of medical evacuations by air. The article includes several sketches drawn by Demarest and based on his time working with DHART.
