John Morton

John Morton has participated in six Winter Olympic Games as an athlete, a coach, or as the U.S. biathlon Team Leader. He has attended scores of National Championships, World Championships, Biathlon World Cup competitions, and the World University Games.

After 11 years as Head Coach of Men's Skiing at Dartmouth College, he wrote Don't Look Back, a comprehensive guide to cross-country ski racing. More recently, he published A Medal of Honor, a novel about the Winter Olympics, which is currently in development as a film. He has been a regular commentator for Vermont Public Radio since 1994. His articles on the outdoors have appeared in more than two dozen publications.

When not writing, Morton designs cross-country ski trails, and is currently involved with projects in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Michigan. He will serve as Chief of Course for the Biathlon events at the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City.
