Krupa Patel
Krupa Patel (editorial intern for Summer and Fall 2010) is a member of the Class of 2013 at Dartmouth College. She is a pre-medical student who also holds a passion for literature. During her freshman year, she took a course in science journalism in which she discovered a new way to bridge her interests in both medicine and writing and the importance of explaining science to the public. She is a writer and online news editor for the Dartmouth Undergraduate Journal of Science, as well as director of Vandana, Dartmouth's South Asian dance troupe. In the summer of 2010, she also began working in the lab of DMS pathologist Radu Stan, studying endothelial cells and vascular permeability.
Krupa, who is from Rockaway, NJ, volunteers at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville, NJ, and works as an SAT instructor during school breaks. Her work with Dartmouth Medicine magazine was partially funded, thanks to a generous grant from the Ellwood H. Fisher Internship Fund, awarded by Dartmouth Career Services.
