Alicia Kim

Alicia Kim (editorial intern for Spring 2010) is a member of the Dartmouth College Class of 2012. She is a French Studies major and is interested in one day becoming an oral surgeon. In her first two years at Dartmouth, she contributed to The Dartmouth student newspaper as a staff writer and rotational editor and the Aegis yearbook as a photo editor and assistant editor-in-chief.

During school breaks, she works with Medical Teams International's Mobile Dental Clinic, helping to provide free dental care to low-income patients. She also holds a leadership role in her sorority—Epsilon Kappa Theta—and is a tutor at Dartmouth's Student Center for Research, Writing, and Information Technology; a First-Year Scholarship Enrichment Program mentor; and an eating disorder peer advisor.

In the fall of 2010, she will be conducting research as a Presidential Scholar in the lab of DMS physiologist William North. Although at times she's tempted to claim otherwise, Alicia is not related to Dartmouth President Jim Yong Kim, whose family also hails from Korea. She grew up in Sammamish, Wash., an eastern suburb of Seattle.
